SVP's favourite fashion finds in India.

There are a couple of places that we thought we’d share with you that are high up on our fashion ratings when we are in Mumbai and Jaipur. We love all the visual merchandising, the mix of vintage finds and contemporary fashion labels that are emerging out of India.
First up is Bombay Electric, http://www.bombayelectric.in/ a beautifully curated shop full of contemporary Indian designers such as Rashmi Varma http://www.rashmivarma.com/ and Karishma Shahani along with the georgeous prints by Anupamaa http://anupamaa.com/ and scarves to lust over by http://www.payalluthra.com/ made from the softest cashmere you’ll ever come across.
The shop is also packed with Indian vintage finds and we always find a little something to take back with us. We particularly love these beautiful brass paan peti – they come in different guises. Our favourite is the duck. And who can resist a bit of Bollwood? The shop stocks many vintage posters perfect for those that can’t be bothered fighting through the traffic to Chor Bazaar (Thieves Market).
Our other favourite haunt Bungalow 8 has just moved back to it’s old location under the breachers of the Wankhede . The shop is an eclectic mix of one-off pieces by India’s up-and-coming designers, vintage objects. Their in-house fashion label , The Bungalow is designed by former YSL and Lanvin designer Mathieu Gugumus Léguillon.
And we are loving this new concept store by Payal Khandwalathat had just opened it’s doors in Apollo Bunder. Beautiful silks block printed in zig zags, we fell in love with wide palzzo pants and short shift dresses http://www.payalkhandwala.in/ . We just wish there was a UK stockist.
Up in Jaipur one of our favourite finds is Hot Pink, a small shop that sits in the grounds of Niwas Palace. Set up by the owners of Gem Palace and the French Jewellery Designer Marie-Helene de Taillac. It stocks beautiful accessories such as stationary, cushions and rugs which sit beautifully alongside contemporary Indian designers.
